Davao City – As part of the Institute’s dedication to promote the technology transfer, innovation, and commercialization, the Technology Application and Promotion Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-TAPI) is currently conducting the of Fairness Opinion Board (FOB) training for DOST – Regional Offices (Mindanao cluster), presently being held at the Seda Abreeza Hotel, 10-11 June 2019.
The two-day training is a series of nationwide event being organized by the DOST through TAPI under the project entitled “Support to the Commercialization of 500 DOST Generated Technologies & Strengthening the Country’s Intellectual Property & Technology Portfolios.”
This activity aims to capacitate each regional office in the preparation of the Issuance of a Fairness Opinion Report (FOR), including its requirements and process.
The topics being discussed are the Amended IRR of the Republic Act No. 10055 (Philippine Technology Transfer Act of 2009), Process and Procedures of Issuing a FOR, and Assessment of Request. Workshops and presentations were also prepared by TAPI experts and resource persons.
During the open forum of the event, the participants actively conveyed their queries in the FOB such as confidentiality of the members, who and how to convene the members, timeline, costs and expense, among others.
A total of 25 DOST regional staff and 1 regional director participates the event.
